Executives blind in making decisions

Company law makes no distinction between executive and non-executive directors with regards to the unitary board structure. Therefore, non-executives have the same legal duties, responsibilities, duty of care and potential liabilities as their executive counterparts. Given the increasingly prominent role they play, should the board of directors be asked to present papers at the board without understanding the process that has been undertaken?
